Haven’t booked your newborn session yet? Spring is full of new arrivals, and it’s been newborns galore around here! I am so so excited for all these babes coming in the next few weeks! I am currently booking newborn sessions out to December 2016, and my Miracles & Milestones plans are only available a few remaining months. I recommend booking as soon as you’ve decided who you want your photographer to be, as in the custom portrait business we are typically running a one-man show, so dates fill fast! It’s never too early to book any session at JSP, I currently have sessions booked into December 2016.

We scheduled this session for baby N as a model session for me to work on some natural baby-led posing (we did of course incorporate some of my favorite go-to poses as well) that I’m working on through one of the newborn workshops I’m attending online this winter. This industry, like most, is always changing and in order to keep things fresh like most I’m constantly learning as well!
All the pretty neutrals for this little beauty was the plan for this session. At two weeks new she made me work for those natural baby-led poses more than anything, because (and who could blame her) she wanted to be swaddled and cozy! Most babies have a favorite way to lay, and while some babies fight the belly pose, this little angel loved being on her belly all squished up! When I first started working on adding this posing style to my sessions, I though baby-led posing might be the absolute easiest thing ever… Boy was I wrong. While they are baby-led, it still takes finesse, patience, and skill to get these natural poses to look polished and professional.
