I have been in newborn heaven down at the studio… Newborn heaven I tell you.
Seriously. I love when I get a big baby boom. I love all of my little and not so little clients, but newborn sessions own the biggest chunk of my photographer heart. To me, those first days, the squeaks, and squishes, and tiny peeling hands & feet… they pass far too quickly. You don’t get that time back, and it’s gone before you know it. You look back {most often through a tired stupor” and realize how quickly they’ve changed. The only thing you’ve got to hold onto are the photographs.
I know investing in custom portraits is not for everyone, everyone puts a label of importance on all sorts of investments. Some of the most important things to me to invest in are making memories, and capturing them. We love to travel, each and every trip away allows us time to focus on each other without work, and the internet, and the TV, and housework, and laundry, and errands, and after school activities, and sports… All of those every day things that keep you distracted, they just aren’t there when you take the time and make the investment to get away together. The memories, and photograghs from this fleeting time in my kids lives, that’s all I’ve got left when they grow up on me, and start their own lives. That my friends is why I put such a value in getting sessions in for my own family on top of the ones I take of my kids. I just can’t get enough 😛
